It was Whittaker's Chocolate, "Let's Indulge" Demo to Whittaker's Indulgence Tour Working Group of Food & Lifestyle Bloggers from 9am to 11am on a Saturday, 7th October 2017 at the Jaya Grocers at The Starling Mall.
It is always a joy to use chocolate in cooking. This time I got the opportunity to demo using Whittaker's Chocolate as well as cater to the event.
Whittaker's gave me not only the apron, but a cool cap AND a chocolate recipe book for me to prepare for the event.
For the catering menu, NZTE requested a Blueberry & Dark Chocolate Breakfast Parfait, using loads of healthy ingredients; chai, almond milk, blueberries, etc... During the testing for the recipe given, we found out that it came out really watery and so our chef modified the recipe to give it more texture and flavor.
Other items on the catering menu were the Chocolate Scones and Chocolate Ketayap which were a hit.
Also included were Gift Boxes of Chocolate Macarons and Chocolate Truffles.
Our demo consisted of the recipe of the Whittaker's Chocolate Ganache by Chef Louis Sergeant from Hippopotamus, featured in the recipe book using Dark Ghana Whittaker's Chocolate.
We had already pre made chocolate cupcakes and all the guests had to do was to deco the cupcakes using the ready made frosting, the ganache as well as other delicious toppings that made the cupcakes pretty and delicious as well.
After the demo of the ganache, we showed how to make whipped cream from scratch and assemble a Chocolate Trifle.
