It's a new restaurant located at the row of shops behind the infamous, Old Town White Coffee. To get there, all you have to do is, follow the white balloon.
This is a great place to get down to earth, good and delicious, home cooking dishes to eat with rice; white rice, nasi kerabu rice, pulut rice, nasi dagang rice, you name it rice. With a selection of almost 20 dishes ranging from boiled vegetables, raw 'ulam' vegetables to fish, chicken, beef, seafood, and more, there is no limit to the choices. My stepdaughter who came to visit actually said these words, "rasa nak makan semua" or "I feel like I want to taste all of them", refering to the wide variety of dishes from ala 'goreng', curry, 'lemak', 'asam' and some I don't even know what to call them, being unfamiliar with 'kampung' cuisine.

So many selections to choose from, real, authentic 'kampung' cooking...
They're open from 9am to 10pm. After 6pm there is the ala carte menu and with me not liking 'nasi goreng' as a meal, the 'nasi goreng kampung' is, well, admittingly good. I decided to order a meal for myself after having tasted a few spoonfuls from my husband's the other night. Anyone who can convert me to local cuisine has got to be a really good cook. Bravo, Kedai Makan Nasi Ulam!
