My first impression of the restaurant when it first opened was that it would be any other local cuisine type restaurant serving 'nasi campur' and maybe with a variety of soups; 'sup ekor', 'sup tulang' and the likes, so it took a while for me to try it out.
The interior design was nothing to shout about; mirrors along one side of the walls, wood furniture, painted walls - shades of pink and purple tarnished with a bit of dirty streaks, could be due to the chair legs rubbing against the walls when they are put up, a small counter stationed in front of the humble entrance to what may be called the kitchen area.
But, I must say, the food was a pleasant surprise. Though the buns turned out to be three slices of bread and not buns, there was quite a variety of soups to choose from, including other items like curry - 'gulai kawah', some western choices and local choices.
I chose - for a family of three, 'nasi goreng kerabu', the 'soup ekor' with bun set, or should I say bread, the 'gulai kawah' rice platter which includes 'sambal belacan', 'sambal kicap', 'ulam' , 'telor dadar' with the curry and rice and a 'asam laksa' dish.
For drinks; Fresh orange - quite watered down though, 'soya cincau' - not bad since it only involved the mixing of ready soya juice and cincau, 'teh o suam' - which I would consider good because they managed to get it 'suam' for me, which I like.
In conclusion, the meal was satisfying and affordable; RM41.20 for all of the above. I even bought the huge loaf of their signature bread at RM6. I definitely would consider this place in my list of good eats.
This would be a place to get a simple no hassle meal. Good for kids and adults alike.
